Engage is a sports-based vehicle for challenging youth to discover and connect with their inner passions and potential, and provide opportunities to unite with other like-minded teens in a safe community.
ENGAGE SPORTS
An idea was birthed in October 2015, sparked by the desire of several of the teens at the Foundation Youth Centre for a floor hockey program. It started out with two kids and one leader, meeting every Monday evening to hit the ball around. As the word spread, numerous kids came out and became hooked on the game during Monday gym times. Currently, we serve 10-15 kids weekly, providing them with a snack and a positive hockey experience. This young group of kids who started off as total strangers has named themselves the “Hounds” Hockey Team, and are quickly becoming the best of friends.

Tuesdays // 3:30 - 6:30 at Foundation Youth Centre
ENGAGE DROP-IN NIGHT
Tuesday nights are Engage's free-for-all sports drop-in! Youth of all ages and skill level are invited to come out for some pick-up games of basketball, floor hockey, dodgeball and other gym sports. After wrapping up at 6:30, youth are invited to stick around for drop-in at the Foundation Youth Centre!
Thursdays // 3:30 - 5:30 at Millwoods Assembly
BASKETBALL DROP-IN
Our weekly casual basketball drop-in. All teens, of all skill levels and experience are welcome to come join in a game of pick-up basketball. Sharpen your skills on the court for your chance to join our U15 team "The Bruins".
Fridays // 4:00 - 7:00 at Millwoods Assembly
ENGAGE FLOOR HOCKEY LEAGUE
Every Friday night it's "Hounds Green", "Hounds White", "Hounds Black", and "ReBuild" competing in our weekly floor hockey league games. Custom Jerseys, player stat tracking, warm-ups with a personal trainer, game star awards and free food are just some of the perks of joining the Engage League! After the games, players can stick around for dinner and conversation, where we get to discuss life questions submitted by the youth.
Spring/Summer League
BRUIN'S LEAGUE BASKETBALL
In 2017, Engage will be coaching 4 community basketball teams. Three boys teams (U17, U15, U13), and a U17 girls’ team which will be coached in partnership with Athletes in Action. We will play spring league basketball beginning in April, as well as a couple exhibition and tournament games.
Thursdays // 2:00 - 3:30 at Edith Rodgers Junior High School
THRIVE THURSDAYS
Engage partners with with Calvary Community Church, to host an after school gym program at Edith Rogers Junior High School. With around 40-80 students taking part, we play gym games, provide pizza, and then do a teaching series called Alpha.
