One on one emotional and practical support, including frequent meetings with mentor and crisis care.
RESOURCE CONNECTIONS
Support and guidance for accessing community resources (including Alberta Works, education, housing, Health for Two, & prenatal care)
PARENTING & LIFE SKILLS
Positive Discipline (7 weeks) –
Non-violent approach to discipline that focuses on understanding developmental stages.
Books for Babies (4 weeks) –
A Program that encourages parents of infants from birth and 12 months to share books with their babies, while supporting families in developing early literacy and language experiences promoting healthy family relationships.
The Basic Shelf (12 weeks) -
A cooking course designed to provide food security and cooking skills. Please visit The Basic Shelf main page or if you are interested in participating in the next cycle.
Financial Literacy
COMMUNITY & WEEKLY GROUPS
Build friendships with other pregnant and parenting youth through weekly drop-in groups and special events. Drop-in group activities include discussing parenting issues, cooking/baking, crafts, guest speakers & monthly trips to other relevant community agencies.
BIRTH & LABOUR SUPPORT
Providing trained & caring doula services.
